Abstract painting by self-taught contemporary artist Diana Elaine Naylor

Oil, Acrylic on canvas

Playing Alone

2023

4ft x 6ft | 48in x 72in

This piece was brought to life by weaving together a collection of playful and experimental works, creating a tornado as the final aesthetic, paying homage to the beauty of blending many elements into one cohesive whole.

To achieve the swirling effect, I used a hand broom, and as you explore the piece, you can catch glimpses of the textured and three-dimensional layers of previous works beneath the surface.

This work was a personal journey, a dance of creativity that reflects my passion for combining diverse elements into a harmonious composition.
